Lightmoor was planned as the new, 21st century ‘Bournville’:
an updated ‘model’ village, for residents of all life
stages, with quality of life as a priority and environmental sustainability
as a key influence.
Tibbalds led a multi-disciplinary team in preparing a detailed masterplan
and outline planning application material for the mixed-use, 800
home new village. Our comprehensive Design Guide in support of the
outline application defined an overall coordinating framework for
the development and also provided detailed urban design guidance.
The
outline application was approved in September 2003. Advance infrastructure,
including sustainable drainage, is on site, together with initial
phases of housing.
Our role as design champion continues through the process of parcel
developer selection and implementation, ensuring that the design
of all schemes contributes to realising the masterplan vision.
