Initial phases of Merton Rise
have been marketed successfully and innovative contemporary schemes
are emerging from a developer selection process that promotes design
quality, without prejudicing land values.
Tibbalds’ masterplan for a 1300 home urban extension in Basingstoke
reflects the County Council’s aspiration for a best practice
approach. It communicates a clear vision for the type of place to
be created, based on:

a seamless urban form that helps to regenerate the existing

A Development Framework
and Design Guidance (including coding) supported the outline planning
application, setting key design principles to secure the vision
whilst retaining a degree of flexibility for the future. |
