Hastings Seafront Strategy

The seafront between Hastings Old Town and Bexhill represents one of the area’s best assets. Seaspace, the regeneration company set up by the Hastings & Bexhill Task Force, commissioned a strategic vision for the seafront as a whole.

Tibbalds was appointed with economic consultants GHK and transport consultants Halcrow to provide the area with a co-ordinated economic development strategy based around the seafront. We were responsible for the urban design and vision aspects of the study. The end result was an overarching strategic framework that established a series of ‘zones of change’ and identified a number of future projects.

We have since been commissioned to carry out a more detailed masterplan for one of these key projects, to show the design potential and to test the financial viability.
