Bromwich Linkages Study
Client - Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council |
West Bromwich is
about to undergo a period of signficant change, as a series of major
redevelopment proposals come forward. The Council has produced a
Town Plan, which aims to create a high quality public realm and,
to help achieve this aim, to co-ordinate development and identify
opportunities for related town centre improvements.
Tibbalds was commissioned to prepare a public realm and linkages
strategy that would create a pedestrian environment that is safe,
attractive and easy to use, by improving:
| •
|
integration
between the town centre and the wider area; |
| • |
pedestrian
access to and between different parts of the town centre; |
| • |
the
management of traffic, reducing conflicts and giving more
priority to pedestrians and cyclists; and |
| • |
the
quality and identity of the town centre’s streets and
spaces. |
