Winchester City Council appoints Tibbalds to produce rail station area Development Assessment

Winchester City Council has appointed Tibbalds Planning and Urban Design to produce a Development Assessment for the area around the railway station in Winchester.

Tibbalds’ will produce an overarching strategy for the development of the station area with a comprehensive approach towards the revitalisation of the public realm and help the Council determine the most suitable mix and scale of uses in the area.

This will consider a number of issues including:

• Land ownership and landowner aspirations;
• A variety of relevant Planning policies;
• Development capacity and viability; and
• Testing of development options, including a concept masterplan, which consider issues of transport, parking, public realm and phasing.
