Awards success for Finsbury Circus Gardens, Belle Vue and Carpenters Estate projects
Finsbury Circus Gardens, in the City of London has won Gold in the Public Realm category at the World Architecture News Awards 2026 – which celebrate excellence in landscape design, sustainability, and the creation of vibrant public spaces.
Tibbalds advised the City of London Corporation as applicant, working in close collaboration with an exceptional design and heritage team including Architecture 00 + Studio Weave, Realm, and MOLA.
Playing a central role in the application submission, Tibbalds coordinated detailed responses to a wide range of queries from City of London planning and conservation officers, as well as Historic England, helping to drive the project forward.
This project is testament to Tibbalds’ commitment to using planning as a powerful tool to champion outstanding design and vibrant urban spaces. The result is a thoughtfully enhanced public garden, featuring upgraded seating and pathways, rich biodiverse planting, a new Parks Office, and a forward-thinking sustainable drainage strategy—all while celebrating and preserving the site’s historic character.
