Tibbalds joins Festival of the Future 2026 at the RCA
Tibbalds is taking part in this year's Festival of the Future, a free, hands-on celebration of the built environment run by Beyond the Box CIC. The festival takes place over two days at the Royal College of Art's Battersea campus, with the main event for aspiring architects, designers and engineers aged 16+ on Saturday 10 October 2026.
We'll be running a session called "Who Makes the City?", taking visitors behind the scenes of how towns and cities are actually shaped — who really decides what your high street looks like, or where new homes get built. It's a chance for young people exploring careers in planning and urban design to see how those decisions get made in practice, and to meet the people who make them.
We're joining a strong line-up of practices and organisations at this year's festival, including Foster + Partners, HTA, Hawkins\Brown, the London School of Architecture and the RIBA Youth Forum, among others — all opening their doors to the next generation of built environment professionals.
The day runs from 10am to 5.30pm at the Studio Building, Howie Street, London, and wraps up with an evening panel, Designing Better Futures: People. Place. Culture., marking Beyond the Box's eighth birthday.
We're proud to support a festival that opens up routes into this profession for young people who might not otherwise know where to start — and we're looking forward to a great day at the RCA.
