Continued success for Tower Court and 8 Bleeding Heart Yard.
We’re pleased to share that Tower Court in Hackney is in the running for both the RTPI National Awards for Planning Excellence and the Building London Planning Awards.
Tower Court has been selected as a national finalist in the Excellence in Planning for Communities (large schemes of 50 homes or more) category of the RTPI Awards for Planning Excellence – with winners to be announced on 27th November.
It’s also a ‘Best Borough led project’ finalist in the Building London Planning Awards, with winners revealed very soon on 14th October.
Tibbalds were planning consultant and heritage consultant on this high quality council led housing project helping make sure that the project moved smoothly through the planning process and works respectfully with its context. This project presents a really great model for mid density housing that serves a specific community need for larger family homes together with playfully designed public realm that invites interaction.
Well done to everyone involved including our client the London Borough of Hackney and the project team, which included Adam Khan Architects (lead architect and design guardian), Daisy Froud (community engagement), Child Graddon Lewis (delivery architect), muf architecture / art (architecture, landscape and public realm), Tom Stebbing (John Stebbing Architecture, Orthodox Jewish adviser), and Potter Raper Limited (Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveyor).

Another of our projects, at 8 Bleeding Heart Yard, was named a Major Project Awards Winner at the Camden Design Awards last week – great recognition for this fascinating retrofit project that takes a worn out 1970s office and wraps it in a contextual and modern way with folded metal at the same time as bringing it up to modern environmental standards.
Tibbalds were planning consultant for this modern and dynamic workplace on Greville St, Farringdon.
The project team included Groupwork (Architect), Atelier One (Structural engineer), Web Yates / Eight Versa (M&E / Sustainability Engineer), Avison Young (Project Manager), Quantem (Cost Consultant). The client is Seaforth Land.
