Opportunity: We have exciting opportunities for Urban Designers or Senior Urban Designers to join our award winning, interdisciplinary team of urban designers, architects and planners.
About Tibbalds: We are an employee-owned practice based in Southwark, working for a wide range of private and public clients on an eclectic mix of projects. These range from large scale masterplans, new settlements, town centre regeneration, design coding, spatial strategies and policy documents to smaller scale arts, and community developments.

About you: Applicants should meet the following minimum requirements:
Urban Designers
We are looking for a ‘safe pair of hands’ with 2-4 years’ experience in an urban design/masterplanning practice. You will:
- have excellent CAD skills (preferable Vectorworks / but others are acceptable);
- have experience in engagement and community consultation;
- be a technically accomplished designer with a background in architecture (RIBA Part 1 and 2 and / or Urban Design MA), with an understanding of different building typologies, able to test capacities, come up with and illustrate compelling design concepts; and
- be experienced in developing technically sound and high-quality housing layouts of varying densities and/or have a record in developing design proposals for new neighbourhoods.
Senior Urban Designers
You will have 4+ years’ experience in an urban design/masterplanning practice, be a creative and technically accomplished designer and bring all or some of the following experience:
- Preparing design guides, design codes and design policy;
- Preparing Outline Planning Applications;
- Planning and facilitating community engagement;
- Liaising with clients and consultant teams; and
- Acting as day-to-day project contact and ability to manage the project delivery.
You will have a strong design ethos, sound judgement and adopt a positive and collaborative approach.
