An ambitious new town centre for the future community

Otterpool Park is a new Garden Town of up to 10,000 new homes located midway between Folkestone and Ashford. Otterpool Park will have its own unique and distinctive character, a place inspired by local landscape and heritage.

Otterpool Park will become a template for 21st Century Garden Town development and contribute to the success of the Folkestone & Hythe district as a whole.

Tibbalds were appointed by Otterpool Park LLP to work with Folkestone & Hythe District Council to prepare a detailed masterplan for Phase 1 of the new Garden Town, progressing the project from the existing outline application.

Phase 1 incorporates the town centre, commercial development, the existing Westenhanger Railway Station as well as over 1,500 homes and benefits from a number of natural and historic assets including a lake and Westenhanger Castle. This work establishes the quality, identity, function and commercial appeal of Otterpool Park and will guide all future developers and operators on site.

Through our combined expertise in planning and masterplanning as well as experience of delivery on site, we are bringing forward the principles set within the high-level outline permission, resolving technical and delivery issues without unravelling the existing permission. Whilst progressing the outline planning application, we are working collaboratively and respectfully with a wider consultant team to move proposals forward towards delivery.
